A Glimmer of MenB Hope?

We are pleased to see the mandate for implementing a MenB vaccine in England is now in place even though price  negotiations are still underway.

This is a positive step because it means delivery of the vaccine won’t be delayed once the final price has been agreed by the Department of Health.

MRF asked for this mandate for delivery of MenB vaccine to be included in NHS contract arrangements back in January, as part of an open letter to the Secretary of State for Health which has now been signed by over 330 leading clinicians and scientists.

Confirmation of the policy appears in the just published NHS Public Health Functions Agreement, also known as Section 7a, which means that once a price is agreed, the necessary paperwork for financial and workload commitments is now in place.
